About this deal
My husband couldn’t believe it! I was at work thankfully because I would have hit the roof. My temper isn’t quite as calm as my DH’s. With the Wallfix, Brabantia has given us a durable and very practical product. The Wallfix dryer fits into a compact space-saving unit that can be wall-mounted indoors or outdoors. The rotary construction means that despite its compact size you still get a full 24 metres of drying space, which is enough for at least one full load of washing, so it’s a good option as an alternative to a single horizontal washing line if you have a small garden or limited space. One disadvantage of retractable wall mounted ‘rotary’ lines is their appearance when folded up against the wall. They can be a bit bulky if they don’t come with a cover.

The first issue is that for a full sized power auger you need 2 strong and fully able people to operate it. When rotating, the shaft and thread generate quite a bit of toque and it takes a fair amount of strength just to hold on to the tool and it’s even worse if you have a heavy clay soil. Spool retractable washing lines can sag which can make them frustrating to use, especially if clothes start to drag on the floor. Here are a few tactics that you can employ to stop your spool washing line from sagging:Depending on how loose the soil is, it may compact down a fair amount so make sure to measure the depth again. Also, in terms of safety, this washing line is bright red instead of the usual greens and blues. It’s therefore very easy to see in the garden which can help prevent accidents.

As the line with the second-highest weight capacity featured here, the Oypla Folding Wall Mounted Washing Line can hold approximately 10 kg of washing. It’s therefore a better choice for families than the Denny or ASAB lines (and a good option if the Brabantia line is just too expensive). They are both cheap to hire, cheap to buy and readily available from most DIY stores, online or from your local builders merchant. There are however a few other options that also need mentioning: Manual Fence Post AugerWall-mounted washing lines can be mounted inside or outside the home and once your washing is dry, the lines on many models can be folded away, freeing up space for more important things. As Sightline Research Institute Intern Jake Kennon states: “Clothes last much longer… households in the Northwest states use 4.3 percent of their annual electricity consumption to dry laundry. To put that into perspective, even our refrigerators only gobble up 3.5 percent… Oh, and clotheslines never burn down your house; in the U.S. alone, dryers cause more than 12,000 residential fires annually.” Source If you have asked your neighbour and the answer was NO. There are a few simple workarounds that we have been using here at Wezaggle.
